This reminds me of my grandfather’s property in Greene County, which was in the family for 60 years but has now passed on (*sigh*). Many areas in the east were cleared and farmed by early settlers. The fields were very rocky, and the rocks that were “harvested” were laid along the edges of the fields or along property lines and so the walls were built. The land was not well suited for farming, so many of these farms were allowed to grow up and have now become woods. Sometimes, you will even find an old apple tree near one of the stone walls, alone in the woods among the white pines.

That ice cream looks so good! I love waffle cones! I can imagine that after a while it would be bad for you not to get the nutrition that you need. Hopefully you can find some nice diners with a good meal.

Yea! I finally registered. Chip, your blog is very inspiring and full of wisdom. It is so true what you say about books.” A room without books is like a body without a soul”-Marcus Tullius Cicero. This is one of my favorite sayings. I too have a hard time being without books. Though, admittedly I don’t read as much as I know I should or would like to. I find your insights and writings interesting as though you are writing your own book about your journey. Words do have a way of seeping into our minds. Thank you for sharing yours!
